Crumbl Review 8/21–8/26

Crumbl is one of my favorite sweet treats, and since there’s a location right by my house, I’ve developed a kind of addiction to them. Their cookies are huge, and a single cookie has the calories of an entire meal. They’re so sugary, and the prices are just as extravagant as their flavors. Yet, I can’t help myself—I love them! This week they have a great line-up: Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chunk, Strawberry Crumb Cake, Berries and Cream, Chocolate Cake, Cinnamon Crunch, and Original ft. Peanut Butter M&Ms. I always get a box of four. The cookies last quite a few days in an airtight container, and they retain their flavor well. In my box of four, I got the flavors that looked most appealing to me: Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chunk, Strawberry Crumb Cake, Chocolate Cake, and Cinnamon Crunch.

The Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chunk is a buttery cookie with large, plentiful chunks of chocolate. I prefer dark chocolate to milk chocolate, and the rich, semi-sweet chocolate in this cookie makes it a winner any week. It also has a touch of salt sprinkled on top to balance the sweetness. The chocolate becomes melt-in-your mouth gooey when warm. The cookie feels firm outside and soft on the inside, but still baked well to center. This remains one of my favorites. I give it a 4.5/5.

I usually like Crumbl’s strawberry cookies, and this one didn’t disappoint. The Strawberry Crumb Cake has a strong strawberry flavor in the cookie, which tastes slightly buttery and feels perfectly baked. The strawberry-vanilla streusel on top adds a sharp berry flavor that’s sugary, while the glaze’s flavor is more subtle. I would’ve loved even more of that streusel. I give this one a 3.8/5.

The Cinnamon Crunch is a cinnamon cookie topped with a vanilla cream cheese glaze, cinnamon cereal pieces, and cinnamon sugar. I love the flavor profile of this cookie, but the center feels too squishy, possibly underbaked. I don’t know if they’re all like this or I just got a subpar cookie. The cinnamon tastes delicious, but I’d love more glaze to balance it. The cinnamon cereal streusel tastes almost caramelized, making for a rich flavor. The bites with the streusel are the best part of the cookie. I give it a 3.5/5.

Lastly, as a chocoholic, I adore the Chocolate Cake cookie. It’s a chocolate cookie topped with chocolate frosting and chocolate curls. It feels very soft without being underbaked. The cookie tastes of super rich cocoa! And the chocolatey frosting is light and rich; it’s sweet without being heavy or thick like actual fudge. The frosting melts in your mouth when warm. This is like eating an actual piece of chocolate cake. I give it a 4.5/5.

Can’t wait to see what Crumbl has next week!
