Everything I Ate at Disney World’s Hollywood Studios!

Disney trips don’t happen often for me, so when I get the opportunity to go, I jump at it! I’ve only been to Hollywood Studios once before, and I was insanely excited to go again for a school trip! As such, I decided to go all out when it came to food.

Our first stop was breakfast at Ronto Roasters in the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge (my favorite part of the park as a Star Wars geek). I ordered the Ronto Morning Wrap, which comes with an egg omelet, grilled pork sausage, shredded cheese (which I had removed) and peppercorn sauce wrapped in a pita. This was a hearty breakfast I was able to share with my friend. Unfortunately, they seemed to have forgotten the peppercorn sauce, so it felt more dry and less flavorful than I imagined it would have been. However, the pork sausage was delicious, rich, and slightly moist. It was the highlight of the wrap. My friend ordered the Rising Moon Overnight Oats, which came with oats, dragonfruit, yogurt, and other seasonal fruit. This was cool, fruity, and wonderful! It tasted sweet, but not overly so.

We headed over to Toy Story Land, rode a few rides, then needed lunch. At Woody’s Lunchbox we both got Totchos! This is a bowl of potato barrels covered in chili, shredded cheese and queso (which I had removed), with corn chips, sour cream, and green onions. The Totchos taste like the most unhealthy kids’ lunch ever, and that’s what makes them so fun! They’re pretty heavy with carbs, but the savory flavors of the chili with the potatoes and cooler flavors of sour cream combine together wonderfully. The potato barrels feel slightly crispy, and the corn chips provide a satisfying crunch! We also split the Raspberry Lunch Box Tart, which was big enough for two. It reminded me of a fancy Pop-Tart. The pastry itself tasted like shortbread, and it felt firm but not hard. The filling inside was sweet and reminded me of raspberry lemonade!

After a few more rides, it was getting pretty hot, so we went for ice cream at Hollywood Scoops! We split the limited time Chocolate Peanut Butter Milkshake. It’s a chocolate milkshake topped with whipped cream and a chocolate donut with peanut butter icing and chocolate peanut butter on the rim. This was a decadent dessert and the perfect thing on a hot day. The chocolate milkshake tasted super chocolatey, and the donut on top was soft and sweet. The chocolate peanut butter on the rim was a bit hard to scrape off, but the work was worth it for how rich it tasted.

After a couple more hours, we had to head back. On our way out, we stopped at Backlot Express to share a quick dinner. We got the Teriyaki Chicken Bowl, which comes with Jasmine rice, teriyaki chicken, edamame, carrots, peppers, cucumber, and onions drizzled in a lemon-tahini-chipotle vinaigrette. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but it was possibly the best thing we ate all day. It had flavors of subtle sweetness, strong umami, and a slight kick. I never imagined this would be something I ate at Disney World, especially not in a small quick service spot in Hollywood Studios where they mostly have stereotypical “American” food, but this dish was flavorful and addictive.

Lastly, of course I couldn’t go without dessert. I grabbed a Carrot Cake Whoopie Pie from Trolley Car Cafe as we left. This dessert was huge, so I split it with my mom, who loves Whoopie Pies. The cakes were soft and pillowy and tasted strongly of carrot cake! Even better, they lacked the raisins most carrot cakes have. The cream cheese frosting between the cakes was generous, rich, and ultra-sweet.

I hope I get to return and try even more delicious Disney food someday!
